This listing is for an originalpiece of 1950's television
prototype premium artwork. It's the final item that was obtained with a set
of items from the Sam & Gordon Gold archives (the lot also included I
Love Lucy
and Fred Allen artwork. From a long forgotten day when seemingly everyone
smoked and the stars of the day actually hocked them on television! We're
not sure what the advertising executives/artist were going for here - the
penciled text is lost to history (or, perhaps, you can make out what they
wrote - so long ago?!). The artwork as presented folds into 1/2 in a
sandwich board style with a 'die cut' image of the head remaining 'out'.
Measures roughly 3" x 4 1/4". A unique piece of history, to be
sure!
